The Open Access Journal on Engineering Applications is committed to upholding the highest standards of publishing integrity, transparency, and ethical conduct in research, writing, peer review, and dissemination. The journal follows the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE) recommendations and standard best practices.
1. Responsibilities of Authors
- Originality & Plagiarism: Authors must submit original work and properly cite others’ work. Manuscripts are screened using plagiarism-detection tools.
- Data Accuracy: Data must be accurate, verifiable, and reproducible; methods should be described clearly.
- Multiple/Redundant Publication: Submissions must not be under consideration elsewhere. Duplicate or redundant publication is unacceptable unless properly disclosed.
- Authorship: Only contributors with significant intellectual input should be listed as authors. All authors must approve the final manuscript.
- Conflict of Interest: Any financial or personal relationships that could influence the work must be disclosed.
- Acknowledgements: Funding sources and non-author contributions should be acknowledged.
2. Responsibilities of Editors
- Fair Evaluation: Decisions are based on scholarly merit without discrimination.
- Confidentiality: Manuscript contents are confidential and shared only with relevant reviewers and staff.
- Conflict of Interest: Editors recuse themselves from handling manuscripts where a conflict exists.
- Publication Decisions: Editors make publication decisions guided by peer review, editorial policy, and legal considerations.
3. Responsibilities of Reviewers
- Confidentiality: Reviewers must treat manuscripts as confidential documents.
- Objectivity: Reviews should be objective, constructive, and free of personal criticism.
- Acknowledgement of Sources: Reviewers should identify relevant work not cited by the authors.
- Conflict of Interest: Reviewers should decline reviews where conflicts exist.
4. Ethical Oversight
- Human and Animal Research: Studies involving humans or animals require approval from an appropriate ethics committee and must include statements about approvals and informed consent.
- Informed Consent: Evidence of informed consent must be provided for research involving human participants.
- Corrections & Retractions: The journal will issue corrections, expressions of concern, or retractions when necessary to maintain the integrity of the scholarly record.
5. Misconduct Policy
All manuscripts are screened for plagiarism prior to peer review. Evidence of plagiarism, data fabrication, falsification, or other ethical violations will result in rejection or retraction and may be reported to relevant institutions.
6. Open Access & Licensing
All published articles are available under the Creative Commons Attribution License (CC-BY 4.0), permitting unrestricted reuse with proper citation.
